Gift from nature

When I was a child, my mother said people often wanted to be around me. She said I had an innate and undefinable way of making people feel good about themselves. I asked my mother if it was something I said or did. She replied, “some people have a natural ability to project energy which offers people comfort and strength. You, my daughter, have this gift from nature.”

Growing up, my family moved often which exposed me to various Asian and European cultures. I had to make new friends constantly and relied on my ‘gift,’ as my mother called it, to adapt to my ever-changing environment. With time, I learned that I received a rewarding sense of comfort in making new friends and helping them achieve their goals. Often using humor and empathy.

Everywhere I went, strangers often engaged me in small talk which ultimately turned into a longer discussion on a specific life obstacle plaguing their thoughts. By the end of our conversation, and depending on what they needed, I would just let them vent. Only when asked to do so, I would give advice. In most cases, I would not meet these strangers again, but they went away with peace in their hearts and hope for a brighter future.

This happens daily in my life. And I feel lucky and honored that these strangers share their thoughts with me, and for that brief moment, open their hearts and minds. In a way, I feel like I am the one receiving a gift each time this happens.

Recently, I moved into the center of New York City, the big ‘Melting Pot.’ Now, I live among diverse cultures, meeting people from different backgrounds with varying views, beliefs, goals, and challenges in life. And I meet more people who seek my ‘gift.’ My family, friends, and the people who know me refer to me as the Oracle, sometimes Guru, and at times, a mind reader. Through my journey of helping others, I found my calling as an introspective analyst is born. I combined my natural gift of people opening up internally and my ability to assist people by analyzing their emotional state, I now can assist people not only with humor and empathy but with science and knowledge. I am invested in people to help them adjust their outlook on life to find fulfillment and not just make monumental changes. Happiness is a lifelong journey that one must seek and not wait for to happen to them. I have complete confidence that I can share my “natural gift” and help others to also find their gift from nature.
